THE GREEN SEAM 织绿衔城 SYNTHESIS OF URBAN AND NATURAL ELEMENTS Business Cycle x Natural Cycle THE GREEN SEAM is designed to be a vibrant and bustling center of activity, with spaces for people to work, shop, learn, and spend their leisure moments such as School and Study rooms, Expo Rooms, Galleries, Museums, Conference Halls, Auditoriums, Sports and Health facilities, recreational activity hubs, rental offices, retail, and office spaces to incubate small to large sized enterprises. These spaces are spatially connected and feed each other in order to keep a self-sustained ecosystem of multiple types of activity, having the lower parts of the building use its educational, cultural and leisure functions serve as a structural block for the commerce and business enterprises that populate the higher parts of the towers. The leisure areas themselves leak into the surrounding itself, using its facades as an interface between interior and exterior activities, meant to play with the principles of harmony and Feng shui. As such it presents the lakeside facade with wavy and organic floor shapes designed to echo the flow of natural elements while providing functional space for their intended purposes. The street side facade, on the other hand, is uninterrupted, showing straight and solid lines to keep the urban flow, whilst at the same time serving as a landmark gateway into the natural surrounding beyond. Rather than trying to impose itself as a landmark, The Green Seam adapts and chameleons itself to become one with the place, and rests as a gatekeeper between such conflicting opposites. Ecological Urbanism THE GREEN SEAM is designed with the concept of ecological urbanism in mind, aiming to harbor the built environment within the natural ecosystem in place. To that effect, sustainable materials and green spaces are incorporated throughout the development to promote a healthy and sustainable lifestyle for residents and visitors alike. The location's climate, with an average humidity of 76% and a sunrise/sunset that accompanies both facades of the building (nature at dawn, urban by night) is also considered in the design in order to create a system that works together with the location to create a sustainable and environmentally-friendly space, with features such as green roofs, wind turbines, solar panels, automated car-parks and rainwater & kinetic energy harvesting technology. The development's domotics focus on intelligent systems that improve overall energy consumption and allow for automated functions such as maintenance & monitoring of the several components within the project. Urban Situation THE GREEN SEAM is uniquely situated to connect people with both the urban setting and natural surroundings, being placed at the frontier between Winlu Lake and the nearby Quzhouxi Railway Station which are connected by a sprawling green axis, providing a verdant green lung filled with retail, business, and leisure areas for visitors to enjoy and framing Winlu Lake in a vast and beautiful panorama. Seeing that the Green Seam occupies 3 large plots, the ground floor is interconnected from both street and lakeside in order to link the project's public spaces with any urban commodities such as transportation or habitation. Visitors to the park, lake and surrounding areas will experience a harmonious blend of urban and natural environments, as THE GREEN SEAM's design emphasizes the importance of the natural world and the need to create spaces that encourage sustainable living and the well-being of its inhabitants, thus contributing to the health and vitality of the broader community. step 0 Nothing here yet!
